Latest Update

I should have posted this last week, but time has a way of getting away from me.

I heard on Monday last week (May 10) from John Behnke at AGEHR, and they're going to publish my easy arrangement of Lead On, O King Eternal.  Not only is that another piece, but it's another new publisher for me, so that was, to say the least, exciting.

Then on Wednesday I submitted an arrangement of On This Day Earth Shall Ring for bells and violin to Bill Griffin at Beckenhorst, and on Friday I heard back from him that they're going to publish that, as well.  All in all, it was a great week.

So, sum total for the Year of Insanity so far -- 38 pieces written, 10 of them picked up for publication (one of them coming out in just a very few short weeks).  I still have at least 10 pieces I need to write before August 1, but with summer coming up, I think I can manage it.

Then this Monday (May 17) I got a copy of the Raleigh Ringers' new CD, A Wintry Mix, in the mail.  Just getting the CD was an unexpected surprise, but listening to it was the real treat.  It's very heavy with a lot of Hart Morris' Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Charlie Brown Christmas arrangements, but with enough other offerings thrown in to strike a nice balance.  (Cathy Moklebust's arrangement of Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence always haunts me for days after I hear it.)

If you're interested in getting your own copy of the CD, you can get one by going to the Raleigh Ringers' online store.  Trust me, it will be money well spent!
