More from Beckenhorst

I heard over the weekend from Bill Griffin, and Beckenhorst has picked up two more of my pieces: an arrangement of "Beneath the Cross of Jesus", and an original entitled "Compassion", which I wrote to take to the Raleigh Ringer's Advanced Ring last November.  That brings me up to a total of 31 pieces accepted or published, with 8 of those from the Year of Insanity.

I've also received composer's copies of all four new Beckenhorst releases for Fall 2010 ("Answer the Call", "Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella", "The Holly and the Ivy", and "God Rest Ye Merry"), as well as my new Lorenz piece ("Thanksgiving Fantasia"), and my string orchestra arrangement of "We Three Kings".  My wife insists on framing and hanging a copy of each new piece (and truth to tell, I don't mind, as it gives me the inspiration to keep going when I'd rather sit here and play solitaire), and the walls of my office are looking pretty crazy.

Still no sound files on most of those pieces, though you can find Thanksgiving Fantasia and We Three Kings both on the Lorenz site, as well as on the listening station at my own site, jasonwkrug.com.

I'm also today eagerly awaiting the announcement of the semifinalists in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest.  I know the chances of my making it on to the next round are slim, but I hold out hope.  I'll be sure to post the results here at some point in the next few days.  In the meantime, for all of you handbell ringers, enjoy these last few weeks before your choirs go on our summer hiatus, and make sure those hands, wrists, and arms are ready for some joyful ringing in the fall!
