Another week gone and, yet again, I haven't the first notion of where it's gone to. It seems like I just wrote one of these posts and here I am again. At least I have something to show for the week.
Music -- I finished up a rough draft of a two/three octave arrangement of This Is My Father's World I'd been working on, and ought to get it wrapped up for good today. I also went back through my old pieces, those I'd started but never finished, and found a mostly-finished rough draft of a medley of "Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above"and "Wash, O God, Our Sons and Daughters," which I was able to turn into a completed rough draft. It, too, needs a little work to be fully finished, but I'm hopeful to have it done this weekend, as well.
Writing -- I wrote every day this week, and most days on the third Sadonia novel. I've got about 12,000 words on it so far (though many of those will get cut back when I edit, no doubt), and am currently in the middle of the third chapter. This book is one I wrote a draft of several years ago, but it's really sparse, the pacing is terrible, and there's a fair bit in it that's sort of Deus ex machina. I'm liking this version better so far, though it's still a long way from completion.
Publishing -- I spent a bit of time this week going over a proof for one of my forthcoming pieces from Lorenz which ought to come out in spring of 2013. Very few errors, though most of them were of my doing (this is why you should always check what you send off to publishers) and should be easily corrected. I also received a very nice royalty checks this week -- with the copies I've sold there, I've had well over 35,000 copies of my music purchased since I first got published back in 2007. That's a very humbling thought, and I can thank enough those of you who've purchased and played my music. Bless you all.
That's about it from here. Have a wonderful weekend (I'll be enjoying the fact I can have the windows thrown wide all weekend long), and we'll see you back here next week.
