Saturday Summary, April 7, 2012

Here we are, right in the middle of Holy Week, and church musicians across the country are going crazy preparing for multiple services in a very short time span.  I'm no exception, though my musicians at church have put in an incredible amount of effort, and should be well-prepared for tomorrow's celebration.

Despite all that preparation (and, oh yeah, learning how to take care of a 2-week-old), I actually managed to get some work done.

Music -- I'm all but finished with one of my current commissions, a project I'm not able to give many details about, as it's been commissioned as a surprise for a director.  It's a rather nice hymn setting, and I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out.

Writing -- Nothing here, but once this commission is over with and out of the way, my plan is to turn my sights to some heavy edits of Fealty and Fire.  Hopefully I'll have some good news on this front here next week.

Publishing -- Aside from some of my newer pieces showing up on various retailer websites (my three newest from Beckenhorst have shown up at J.W.Pepper, and my newest from Ring Out! Press and Lorenz have shown up as well on the Jeffer's Handbell site), there really hasn't been much new here this week -- I can only assume that all of my editors are, much like me, getting ready for Holy Week and Easter services.  There should be more new pieces coming out in the weeks ahead, and I'll keep you posted when that happens.

I wish you all the very happiest of Easters, and we'll look for you back here next week!
