Just heard from Kevin McChesney at Jeffers that they will be publishing my arrangement of "For the Beauty of the Earth", likely in 2011. That makes 4 for 13 in the Year of Insanity thus far. There are several pieces still out there (more than a dozen) on which I'm waiting to hear, and with several of them at or beyond the three-month mark, it means responses should be sometime soon.
I've got a couple more rough drafts done today on some easy organ pieces (the joys of having the day off due to parent teacher conferences) and hope to throw together another one before the day's out. My wife is playing one of my other organ preludes -- she's not an organist -- and it sounds pretty nice, so I'm hopeful to get another couple around which she can play in the coming months. Even if they never sell, it at least will take a bit off me in terms of Sunday morning service music.

These Three Remain ...
Heard from Doug Wagner this morning and Lorenz is going to publish an arrangement of mine called Faith, Hope, and Love, which is a medley of "Faith of our Fathers", "My Hope is Built (The Solid Rock)", and "O, How I Love Jesus". That makes twenty-two, and three from The Year of Insanity. Also heard from Kevin McChesney at Jeffers tonight asking for some MIDI files of a couple I've sent them. Nothing definitive there, but I've got my fingers crossed (which makes it really hard to play piano and type).
For my next couple of pieces, I think I'm going to focus in on writing some organ preludes and postludes to use in service. My organ skills still aren't quite where I'd like them to be, and many of the postludes I've found are just a little beyond my ability. Figure I can write my own and make them easy enough for me to play them. I'll add them to the Year of Insanity list once they're done.
